Covid-19: Regulations for travel to Panama

  • Travelers will not have to present a negative COVID-19 test to enter as long as they can present a card or digital certification of the complete vaccination scheme endorsed by WHO, EMA and FDA, equal to or greater than 14 days after their last dose.
  • Travelers not vaccinated or with an incomplete vaccination scheme must present a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test for a maximum of 72 hours upon arrival in Panama.
  • If it is not possible to present a proof within the established period, the traveler must carry out a rapid COVID-19 test at the airport, which will be borne by the traveler, prior to their passage through migration (Value USD $ 50).
  • If the test gives a positive result, the Ministry of Health will assign the stay of a Hotel Hospital for a period of 14 days. The cost of the stay must be fully covered by the traveler.
  • ALL travelers must present their complete Health Affidavit (in physical or digital form) to the airline BEFORE boarding for Panama.

  • Travelers not vaccinated or without a complete vaccination scheme who come from or have transited through countries considered High Risk in the last 15 days. They must comply with a mandatory 72-hour quarantine in an authorized hotel of their choice  with a reservation prior to arrival that must be presented in printed version at the time of entry. The cost of the reservation must be covered by the traveler in full.

  • At the end of 72 hours, a COVID-19 test will be performed. 
    If the result is negative, the quarantine ends.
    If the test is positive, the traveler must remain in quarantine for a period of 14 days. The cost of the stay must be fully covered by the traveler.
  • Travelers who can present their physical card or digital certification of the complete vaccination scheme endorsed by WHO, EMA and FDA, equal to or greater than 14 days after their last dose, will be exonerated from the 72-hour quarantine.
