Sleeping inside or in nearby hotels (CHC)

Possibility to spend the night at Christchurch airport (CHC), if open 24 hours. Services available, places to rest (free resting zones), or look for the list of nearby hotels and vip lounges.

Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area

Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, all regular services and hours may be subject to change. Thus, if the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are close to boarding.
Spending the night at the airport

Passengers will have to prove that they arrived after 10:30 pm through some form of commercial transport and that they will leave before 8:30 am. In addition, you will only be allowed to seat, but not to sleep or lie down.

Where to rest: Available seats are uncomfortable and the air conditioning is very strong, so come prepared with warm clothes. Inside the terminal, there are a few VIP lounges with more amenities and privacy, but they close at night. Finally, there are hotels with shuttle services to their facilities.

Baggage: The left luggage service is temporarily unavailable.

Eating and drinking: There are no options open during the night at the moment.

Restrooms: Showers in the International Arrivals Hall and in the VIP lounges.

Wi-Fi: Free and unlimited.

Other services available around the clock: ATMs, children's play area, baby changing facilities.
