ToncontÃn International Airport, opened in 1934, is the busiest in the country. Due to recent accidents, its geographic position and short runway, it will only operate with small-size planes once Palmerola Airport is concluded. Bus - City buses are not allowed to run through downtown Tegucigalpa, but line 24 travels to the area of Lomas, with an estimated time of 30-35 minutes.
