Ride-sharing

Uber, Lyft, Wridz, Waymo and HUM pick up passengers at the south outer curb of Terminal 3, outside gates 1, 2, 6 and 8 of Terminal 4, at the Rental Car Center visitor parking lot, and at the 24th and 44th Street metro stations. Services are available 24 hours a day.

Bus

Valley Metro line 13 (Tel +1 602 253 5000) travels from the Operations Building, west of Terminal 3, and the 24th Street Metro Station to downtown via Buckeye Street, with a travel time of about 45 minutes and a fare of USD2.00. It operates Monday through Friday between 4:15 am and 11:15 pm, Saturdays and Sundays from 5:15 am to 11:15 pm.

Alternatively, the PHX Sky Train service can be used to reach the 44th Street Metro Station, from where service 44 departs to Paradise Valley Mall Transit Center and Desert Ridge Marriott Resort from 4:15 am to 11:15 pm.

There are also bus services to different locations in the state of Arizona and other cities in the United States. They are operated by Greyhound (Tel +1 800 231 2222), which picks up passengers at the 24th Street station, and FlixBus (Tel +1 855 626 8585), which departs from the 44th Street station.

In addition, several private companies provide transportation to various locations, including Anthem, Arizona City, Black Canyon City, Casa Grande, Clarkdale, Cordes Junction, Dewey, Flagstaff, Grand Canyon, Jerome, Lake Montezuma, Maricopa, Oak Creek Canyon, Prescott, Rimrock, Sedona, St. David, Tucson and Williams.

Train

The PHX Sky Train connects the airport with the Valley Metro train service (Tel +1 602 253 5000), which departs from the 44th Street station for various destinations within the city. Trains operate from 3:45 am to 2:00 am. They depart with a frequency of 12-20 minutes and tickets cost USD2.00. Stops include Metro Parkway, Dunlap, Glendale, Camelback, Central Station, Tempe Transportation Center, Sycamore, Mesa and Main Street.

Taxi

Vehicles available 24 hours a day outside gate 7 of Terminal 3, on the north curb, and on Level 1 of Terminal 4, outside gate 7 (north curb) and gate 4 (south curb). The fare to the city center is fixed (USD17.00) and the ride takes 10-15 minutes. The official operators are VIP Taxi (Tel +1 602 300 3000), AAA/Yellow Cab (Tel +1 480 888 8888) and Mayflower Cab (Tel +1 602 955 1355).

Although there are issues that seem more than obvious, it is always advisable to take them into account when moving to or from the airport, and especially if we go by public transport.  1- To the airport - It is convenient to leave with a little more anticipation than what is commonly suggested. If you choose a taxi or a private car service, always take into account peak traffic times, demonstrations, strikes or events that may delay the journey to the airport from where you are. It is always good to be informed about what is happening. If you contract a shared transfer service, have a contact telephone number handy in case of any delay by the company. In these cases they usually already have a scheduled collection time. If you use public transport (collective, train) take into account the schedules (weekends and holidays tend to have less frequency), if you have to change and also how to board (if you need a card or paying the driver or motorist at the moment ). These are details that seem obvious, but it is advisable to know so as not to have surprises and suffer a delay that could cause complications. If you rent a car to get to the airport, check where to leave the vehicle. At some airports, there is an exclusive parking lot for rental cars.  2 -From the airport- Here it is a little less stressful since you don't have the pressure of missing your flight. In the worst case, you will arrive later at the place where you are going to stay or at the meeting point where you are trying to arrive. Once you leave the plane, look for your suitcase and finish with the arrival procedures that are required. Then, follow the directions for public transportation or ask the airport staff. It is very useful to find out in advance the schedules of the buses or trains in case you arrive late at night. Not all work 24 hours. The same goes for taxis. In case of using an Uber-type service, have the mobile application handy to contact the driver. On the other hand, if you booked a private transport service, it is likely that they will have a person waiting for you, identified with a sign. If you rent a car to go from the airport to your final destination, for greater peace of mind it is advisable to book it in advance. Rental counters are usually available in the arrivals hall.
