Coronavirus and FAQs at (MTY) airport

Coronavirus Answers and Frequently Asked Questions for Passengers at Monterrey airport (MTY)

 CORONAVIRUS

Worldwide situation. General considerations

Due to the advancement of vaccination worldwide, documentation and testing restrictions have been eliminated in many countries. In fact, in some countries, by presenting the complete vaccination certificate against Coronavirus, RT-PCR or antigen test results are no longer required, nor is a health affidavit form.

However, we insist once again, that in the situation of constant changes, it is always important to ask and arrange details with the airline and, if necessary, with the airport as well as, in the case of international flights, with the embassy or consulate near the final destination, and also with the countries involved for connecting flights, if any.

The Monterrey International Airport has installed test modules for COVID-19 through the Swiss Lab laboratory (Tel +52 81 5102 0890). Thus, it offers antigen test services both for passengers and the general public.

The modules operate from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm in Terminal A, and from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm in Terminal B.

Costs:

Passengers: $469.00 (presenting a boarding pass)
Non-passengers: $849.00.
Payment can be made with a debit or credit card (except American Express).

Monterrey International Airport (MTY) has three terminals:
– Terminal A: It is the main terminal at the MTY Airport. It operates with international flights and some domestic ones.
– Terminal B: Processes all flights of Skyteam members.
– Terminal C: This terminal operates exclusively with low-cost flights from the VivaAerobús airlines.

A free shuttle service connects all the terminals and parking lots from 5am to midnight.

There are different collective van services that transfer passengers between the airport and the center in 40 minutes, such as: TOTSA, TPA, SUBURBAN, EJECUTIVO, GOLDEN. There is also a door-to-door service to hotels and homes. See more

The arrivals area is usually the meeting point with the Uber driver. However, it is recommended to coordinate with the driver beforehand. Fares to the downtown area, both in regular taxis and in Uber, are around 300 MXN.

The “FreeWifi by Sitwifi” network service is free and for an unlimited time at the terminal.

There are many shops, some duty free as well as restaurants, snack bars and cafes. The vast majority of gastronomic and commercial establishments are open from 6 am to 10 pm or during flight hours. There is only one convenience store (Hudson News) available 24 hours a day in Terminal C. In turn, the airport has VIP lounges available from 5 am to 10 pm. The VIP lounges represent a great option for a long wait for a connecting flight, or a delayed flight, an early check-in in the morning or for a breakfast, buffet lunch, snacks, drinks and a relaxed atmosphere for rest, relaxation or even work.

For lost luggage you must contact your airline or go to their counter at the airport. In case of losing any belongings inside the terminals, you must go to the Lost Property office located in Terminal A, in the Administrative offices of the Airport.
