Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Spending the night at the airport
Heraklion airport operates with many seasonal flights, so it is pretty crowded during the high season, even through the night. It is recommended to have a sleeping mask, earplugs or headphones to get some rest.
Where to rest: The enclosure does not offer many possibilities to get some sleep in the public areas, except for a few couches on the upper floor. Another option (by paying or through different memberships) is to use the VIP lounge on the first floor, although this is closed at night. On the other hand, there are several hotels nearby.
Baggage: Inside the car park there is a left-luggage service that operates 24 hours a day, so you can forget about your bags until check-in time.
Eating and drinking: As stores inside the airport are usually pretty expensive, you may want to have some snacks ready in advance.
Wi-Fi: The service is free and unlimited.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, baby changing room, medical center.
