Rafael Núñez International Airport, opened on February 14, 1920, serves Cartagena de Indias. Due to its tourist movement, it is one of the most important airports in Colombia, behind only Bogotá's El Dorado Airport and Medellín International Airport. In addition to numerous domestic destinations, it operates several international routes within the American continent and Europe.

Location
The airport is located within the urban area, in the Crespo neighborhood, 3 km (2 miles) northwest of downtown Cartagena. It is only 10 minutes from the historic center and the convention area and 15 minutes from the hotel zone.
