Sleeping inside or in nearby hotels (BSL)
Possibility to spend the night at Basel airport (BSL), if open 24 hours. Services available, places to rest (free resting zones), or look for the list of nearby hotels and vip lounges.
Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Basel airport is open 24 hours a day and is divided into a French and a Swiss sector. However, it's not a comfortable place to spend the night, so it's advisable to bring a sleeping bag, blankets, a sleeping mask, headphones or earplugs to ensure you get a good night's sleep.
Where to rest: The best place is the upper floor of the Swiss sector, where you can find comfortable seats without armrests. There is also a VIP lounge on the boarding level that offers more comfort, although it is closed at night. For those who prefer to stay in a hotel, there are several options nearby, some of which offer shuttle services.
Baggage: There are no luggage storage facilities inside the enclosure.
Eating and drinking: Shops close at night, so it is advisable to bring pre-prepared snacks.
Restrooms: Showers available inside the VIP lounge, but not in the public toilets.
Wi-Fi: Free and unlimited.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, children's play areas, baby changing facilities.
