Spending the night at the airport
Basel airport is open 24 hours a day and is divided into a French sector and a Swiss sector. It is not one of the most comfortable for spending the night, so it is recommended to have a sleeping bag, blankets, mask, headphones or earplugs for a better rest.
Where to rest: The best place is the upper floor of the Swiss sector, with comfortable couches with no armrests. On the Departures level there is also a VIP lounge with more amenities, but it closes at night. If the passenger finally decides to go to a hotel, there are several in the vicinity, and some of them offer shuttle services.
Baggage: There are no luggage storage offices inside the enclosure.
Eating and drinking: Commercial stores close at night. Have some refreshments ready in advance.
Restrooms: Showers available inside the VIP lounge, but not in the public toilets.
Wi-Fi: Free for 24 hours.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, children's play areas, baby changing facilities.
There are no accommodations inside the enclosure, but in the Arrivals area of level 2 there are hotel information boards. Some options nearby have shuttle services for their guests.
