Transfer to/from - Shanghai Hongqiao airport (SHA)

Metro

The airport is integrated into the Shanghai Metro network, offering a fast and affordable connection to the city centre (approximately 35-45 minutes to People's Square).

• Line 2 (Green): Connects Terminal 2 and Hongqiao Railway Station with key locations such as Jing'an Temple, People's Square, Lujiazui (financial district) and Pudong Airport. It operates approximately from 5:30 am to 11:30 pm. Important: This line does not stop at Terminal 1.
• Line 10 (Purple): The only line serving both terminals. It runs towards Hongqiao Railway Station, Jiaotong University, Xintiandi, Yuyuan Garden and Wujiaochang. Operating hours are from 5:30 am to 11:00 pm.

Buses

Several public bus routes connect the terminals with different districts of Shanghai and Pudong Airport. Services generally operate between 6:00 am and 11:00 pm, with additional night routes available.

• From Terminal 1: Route 807 (to Qingjian Xincun), Route 1207 and night route 316 (towards the eastern section of Yan'an Road).
• From Terminal 2: Route 941 (to Shanghai Railway Station), Hongqiao Hub 4 (Zizhu Science Park), Hongqiao Hub 9 (Jiading) and night route 316.
• Airport Line 1: Express service directly linking Hongqiao Terminal 2 with Pudong International Airport in approximately 60-80 minutes.

A free shuttle bus service transports passengers between both terminals every 30 minutes, with stops at the arrivals level.

High-speed trains

Hongqiao Railway Station is located adjacent to Terminal 2. It is one of the largest railway hubs in Asia, with high-speed trains departing to major Chinese cities including Beijing, Hangzhou, Suzhou and Nanjing. It can be reached on foot from T2 or via Metro Lines 2 and 10.

Taxis

Official taxi ranks are located outside Gate 1 at Terminal 1 and Gate 4 on the arrivals level at Terminal 2. The journey to central Shanghai usually takes between 30 and 50 minutes, depending on traffic. It is advisable to carry the destination address written in Chinese characters, as most drivers do not speak English. Between 11:00 pm and 5:00 am, an approximate 30% night surcharge applies to the base fare.
