Tahiti Faa'a Airport remains open 24 hours a day, allowing passengers with early morning flights or overnight connections to stay inside the terminal. As it is an airport with a design partially open to the tropical climate, the experience of spending the night has some important particularities to consider.

Where to rest?

Most of the available seating is located in the public (landside) area. There are metal benches and some wooden ones distributed throughout the main hall. Travellers often report that some benches do not have armrests, making it easier to lie down, although the surface is hard and not very comfortable for long periods.

Due to the building’s structure, mosquitoes are commonly present at night, so the use of repellent is recommended. Likewise, although the overall environment is warm and humid, enclosed air-conditioned areas can become quite cool, making it advisable to have a blanket or light jacket.

Food and Services

Shops and dining outlets, including cafés and the Duty Free area, usually close after the departure of the last international flight (around midnight) and reopen early in the morning. It is essential to have your own water and snacks if you plan to stay overnight at the airport. Toilets are available 24 hours a day, but showers are only located inside the lounge, which closes during the night.

Baggage and Wi-Fi

Baggage: The luggage storage service does not operate 24 hours a day. Outside its opening hours, you will need to keep your luggage with you at all times.

Wi-Fi: The airport offers 2 hours of free Wi-Fi. Once this time is used up, you may need a local SIM card or a data plan to stay connected for the rest of the night.
