Managua airport (MGA)

Augusto Calderón Sandino International Airport, opened on July 4, 1968, is the most important in Nicaragua and serves not only the capital but the entire country. It operates with domestic and international flights to destinations in North America, Central America and the Caribbean.

 Location

The airport is located 11 km (7 miles) to the east of the city of Managua.

Public and private transportation

Bus - Line 266 runs to the city every 15 minutes between 5:30 am and 9:00 pm. It links Las Mercedes with Mercado Oriental, stopping at the airport and several locations along Carretera Norte.
Nica Shuttle (Tel +505 2270 1936 / 7872 0069) operates minibuses to Granada, Masaya and León.

Taxi - Ranks are located outside the building. The trip to the city centre takes approximately 20 minutes.
