Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Spending the night at the airport
Terminals are open 24 hours a day and have many services, so it is a good airport for passengers with cancelled flights or with connections or departures early in the morning. In this way, low-budget passengers avoid extra expenses in transfers and hotels.
Where to rest: There are more comfortable places in the Departures Halls than in the public area. Contact your airline to see if you can make the check-in and drop your bags before the security checkpoint closes for a few hours before midnight. Near gate 31 there is a carpeted lounge and some recliners to lie down. In addition, several waiting rooms have reclinable chairs and seats with no armrests. If you have a bigger budget and want to get a better rest, you can use the Sleeping Pods, which even have spaces to store your luggage (€4.50 an hour + an additional if you request blankets, pillows and water.) There are also three hotels inside the grounds. Another option is to access the VIP lounges by paying at the door or with different memberships. You have to take into account that they close before midnight and reopen at 5.30 am.
Baggage: There are lockers on the ground floor of both terminals (maximum storage period: 7 days), so you can forget about your bags until check-in time.
Eating and drinking: Options open 24 hours a day are available in Terminal 2: Cafe Tori (gates 26-27), Nordic Kitchen (gate 35), Ulappa (Departures level). Alepa is a candy store that remains open through the night and is found in the Arrivals Hall. In addition, there are vending machines in different places of the terminals.
Shopping: Business hours vary between 4:00 am and 11:00 pm.
Restrooms: Showers only inside the VIP lounges.
Wi-Fi: The airport has a free and unlimited connection.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, internet kiosks, library, children's play areas, gas station, baby care facilities.
