Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, all regular services and hours may be subject to change. Thus, if the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are close to boarding.
Spending the night at the airport
Bologna airport operates with many international flights, so it is frequent to see a lot of passengers coming and going at night, waiting for a flight early in the morning. The terminal is small, safe and quiet. Layover passengers will have to remain in the public area once the security checkpoint closes for the night.
Where to rest: You can find some comfortable benches on the first floor, but most seats inside the terminal are made of metal and have armrests, so be ready to sleep on the floor. Another option is to enter the airport's VIP lounge, although it closes at night, or check-in in the hotel situated near the grounds.
Baggage: There is a left-luggage service on the first floor that operates 24 hours a day.
Eating and drinking: In addition to vending machines, there is a coffee shop by the terminal entrance that remains open through the night.
Wi-Fi: Free for 6 hours.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, baby changing facilities.
No hotels are available inside the airport grounds, but the FlyOn Hotel & Conference Center is situated within walking distance. Other accommodations nearby are:
