Sleeping inside or in nearby hotels (VNO)

Possibility to spend the night at Vilnius airport (VNO), if open 24 hours. Services available, places to rest (free resting zones), or look for the list of nearby hotels and vip lounges.

Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area

Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.

Vilnius Airport remains open 24 hours a day, allowing passengers with early-morning flights to stay overnight in the terminal. However, it is important to note that once daily operations end and the security checkpoint closes (generally after the last flight), passengers must remain in the public (landside) area until security reopens in the early morning.

Resting inside the terminal

The terminal is relatively small and quiet during the night, although comfort is limited. In the public arrivals and departures area, travellers can find metal seating, most of it without armrests, making it easier to lie down. However, as the seats are metal, they tend to be cold and hard, so it is advisable to bring a blanket or warm clothing, as the temperature inside the terminal can drop considerably overnight.

Recommended areas: Many travellers choose the second floor of the public area, which tends to be quieter than the ground-floor arrivals level. Although the floor is tiled and there are no carpets, some corners near the walls offer a little more privacy for those with sleeping bags.

Services available at night

Despite the airport remaining open, the range of services is drastically reduced during night-time hours:

Food and drink: Most restaurants and cafés close after the last flight. However, Narvesen kiosks (located in the public area) usually open very early or have extended hours, where basic snacks and drinks can be purchased. Vending machines are available throughout the terminal and operate 24 hours a day.

Luggage: The left-luggage service operated by BGS allows travellers to store their bags securely, making it easier to rest without constantly watching over their belongings.

Wi-Fi: Free access is limited to 6 hours. Once this time has been used, it is necessary to reconnect or rely on mobile data.

More comfortable alternatives

If you are looking for higher-quality rest, the AirInn Vilnius Hotel is located just 50 metres from the departures terminal, allowing you to sleep in a proper bed and reach check-in within minutes. Alternatively, the Narbutas Business Lounge offers showers and a much more comfortable environment, but it is not an overnight option, as it closes at 10:00 pm and reopens at 4:00 am.

Security: The terminal has continuous surveillance and security cameras, making it a safe place to spend the night, provided that basic belongings are kept secure.
