Ground transportation options

Public transportation, licensed taxis and ride-hailing apps, private transfers and car rental at Vilnius airport (VNO), 5.9 km from Vilnius. See also the airport guide for general information.

Public Buses

The public transport service is managed by JUDU and connects the airport with various strategic points across the city. Bus stops are located just outside the terminal.

  • Routes 1 and 2: Provide direct connections between the airport and Vilnius Central Railway Station.
  • Route 3G: An express service that runs through the city centre to the Fabijoniskes district.
  • Route 88: Links the airport with the historic centre (Old Town) and Europa Square.
  • Route 88N: A night service operating on the same route as Line 88 during the early morning hours.

Tickets: From €1.00. Tickets can be purchased using contactless payment directly on the bus, or via the m.Ticket and Trafi mobile applications.

Long-distance Services

Several companies operate from the airport, offering transfers to other Lithuanian cities and international destinations:

  • Ollex: Provides regular services to Kaunas and Klaipeda (Akropolis shopping centre).
  • TOKS: Minibuses connecting the airport with Vilnius Bus Station every 20–40 minutes, as well as routes to Palanga.

Trains

There is a direct rail connection operated by LTG Link linking the terminal with Vilnius Central Railway Station. A pedestrian walkway equipped with lifts and a covered gallery connects the main building with the train platform.

Journey time: Approximately 7 minutes.

Ticket purchase: Available online via the LTG Link website, at the station, or on board the train. The fare is €0.80.

Taxis

The official taxi rank is located in front of the arrivals terminal. It is recommended to use only vehicles waiting in the designated area, which accept both cash and credit card payments.

Estimated fare: The journey to the city centre costs approximately between €13.00 and €20.00, depending on traffic conditions and the final destination.

Ride-hailing and Car Sharing

The airport provides designated areas for services operated through digital platforms:

Bolt: The ride-hailing app offers a dedicated Bolt Pick-up Zone located in car park P2, between the departures and arrivals buildings, to make meeting your driver easier.

Car sharing: CityBee, SPARK and Bolt Drive services are available on site. Vehicles can be collected or parked in the designated areas of car parks P2 and P3.

Tips for getting to and from VNO

Going to the airport

  1. Leave earlier than you think you need to: Vilnius airport is 5.9 km from Vilnius. Allow for rush-hour traffic, strikes or events, and check the local news before you go.
  2. On public transportation, check the schedule (weekends and holidays usually have fewer services), whether you need to change lines and how to pay: transit card, contactless or cash.
  3. If you booked a shared shuttle, keep the company's phone number at hand in case the pickup is late.
  4. Returning a rental car? Follow the signs to the rental car return area. If you drive your own car, check parking at VNO.

Leaving the airport

  1. After baggage claim and customs, follow the ground transportation signs. The arrivals page has a step-by-step guide.
  2. Arriving late at night? Not every bus or train runs 24 hours: check the last departure in advance. Ride-hailing apps usually pick up at a designated zone, not at the curb.
  3. With a private transfer, the driver usually waits in the arrivals hall with a sign with your name.
