Spending the Night at the Airport

St. Louis Lambert International Airport terminals remain open 24 hours a day. However, TSA security checkpoints close overnight (approximately between 10:00 pm and 3:30 am). Passengers with early morning flights or overnight layovers must wait landside in the public areas until checkpoints reopen.

Resting Areas

Most seating in the public areas features fixed armrests that prevent lying flat. Many passengers opt to rest on carpeted floor areas or benches in the ticketing and baggage claim halls; having a travel mat or warm clothing is recommended as terminal temperatures can drop overnight. The James S. McDonnell USO lounge features sleeping beds and quiet recliners strictly for active-duty military personnel.

Baggage Storage

There are no public luggage storage lockers or left-luggage services available at the airport; travelers must keep their luggage with them at all times until airline check-in opens.

Overnight Dining

All restaurants, cafés, and food outlets close during the night. Overnight visitors must rely on vending machines offering drinks and packaged snacks located throughout the terminals.

Connectivity and Security

Complimentary Wi-Fi operates without interruption overnight. The facility is under 24-hour patrol by the St. Louis Airport Police Department. There are no public shower facilities.
