The airport is located between the towns of Rochford and Southend, in Essex County, 36 miles (58 km) east from London.

Bus - The X30 service from First Group (Tel +44 345 646 0707) leaves from in front of the control tower to Southend-on-Sea, Rayleigh, Stansted airport and Chelmsford between 5:10 am and 0:10 am. Journey time is around 90 minutes.
Line 9 from Arriva (Tel +44 344 800 4411) departs from behind the Holiday Inn Southend to Victoria Station in 15 min., with stops at Rayleigh, Eastwood, Prittlewell, Thorpe Bay and Shoeburyness. Buses 7 and 8 go to Southend centre and Rayleigh via Rochford, Hockley, Prittlewell, Victoria and North Shoebury. Tickets cost £3.50.
Train - Greater Anglia (Tel +44 345 600 7245) services leave from in front of the terminal to Liverpool Street (53 minutes trip) and Stratford (44 min.) stations, where you can board different metro lines. Trains operate every 20-30 min. Mondays through Saturdays between 4:05 am and 0:00 am and Sundays from 6:20 am to 0:00 am. Tickets have a cost of £13.60-16.70 and intermediate stops include Rochford, Hockley, Rayleigh, Southminster, Althorne, Wickford, Shenfield and Romford.
