Rio Branco - Plácido de Castro International Airport, opened on November 22, 1999, serves the state of Acre with regional flights to some important destinations in Brazil. It is also one of the most modern airports in the country and Latin America.

Public and private transportation

Bus - Via Verde Transportes (Tel +55 68 3221 3772) provides a service to the city centre that runs from 5:00 am to 0:15 am (until 11:20 pm on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays). Buses depart from outside the terminal and travel to Vila Custódio Freire, Estrada Dias Martins, Av. Ceará, Av. Nações Unidas, Av. Getúlio Vargas, Av. Brasil and the bus terminal.

They have vehicles available around the clock in front of the Arrivals Hall and travel time to the city centre is 25 minutes.
