Beijing Daxing international airport (PKX)

Beijing Daxing International Airport, opened on September 25, 2019, was built to decompress the high level of demand at Beijing Capital Airport. It operates numerous domestic flights and some international destinations in neighbouring countries, Russia, Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. It is the second largest single-terminal airport in the world, behind Istanbul's new airport. Its modern and innovative starfish-shaped design means that the walking distance to each gate is no more than 600 metres.

 Location

The airport is located on the border between Beijing and Langfang, 46 km (29 miles) south of Tiananmen Square, in downtown Beijing, and 65 km (40 miles) south of Beijing Capital Airport.

Car rental agencies

CAR (Tel +86 222 480 7555) and eHi Car (Tel +86 400 888 6608) have car rental desks at the airport. Note that foreigners are not allowed to drive in China even with an international licence. Therefore, if you wish to rent a car, you can either follow the necessary procedure and obtain a temporary driving licence or simply rent a car with a driver.

Parking facilities are located on the north side of the terminal. Battery charging and tyre inflation services are offered here. Facilities for passengers with special needs

Passengers with reduced mobility are provided with special ramps and all the necessary requirements to facilitate their access. People with special needs (elderly, children, pregnant women, sick and disabled people) can count on free wheelchairs, baby prams, escort services and luggage transport, and even a battery change for their car free of charge. In addition, there is a free winter clothes box.

There is also an accessible, self-contained unisex lavatory equipped with a lower sink, a counter for your belongings, clothes hook, lower hand dryer, safety armrest and emergency call. Its unisex design allows for the company of a person of the opposite gender.
