The airport is located at Km. 27 of the Morelia-Zinapécuaro Highway, within the municipality of Álvaro Obregón, 27 km (15 miles) northeast of downtown Morelia, the capital city of Michoacán.

Authorized taxi services operate 24 hours a day with official booking counters located inside the public arrivals area. Fares are zone-based and depend on the vehicle type (private sedan, shared shuttle, or van):

• Taxis Aeropuerto Morelia (Transporte THHV): 24-hour service to Morelia and surrounding municipalities.
• Transportación Terrestre Monarca (TT Monarca): round-the-clock service to Morelia and various locations across the state of Michoacán.

Buses and Public Transportation

There are no direct urban bus routes, trains, or metro lines serving the airport grounds. To travel to Morelia's central bus terminal or downtown areas, passengers are advised to hire an authorized taxi or arrange a rental car.

Payment must be made prior to vehicle exit using the automated pay stations inside the terminal. The average reference parking fee is $52.37 MXN per hour (plus VAT), and the replacement cost for a lost ticket is $200.00 MXN (plus VAT).
