Macaé airport (MEA)

Macaé Airport, opened on December, 1981, is an important air terminal in the state of Rio de Janeiro. Currently it only operates with private and charter flights and flights to Congonhas.

The airport is located 5 km (3 miles) to the north of downtown Macaé.

Bus - Public services have a frequency of 30-40 minutes and operate between 4:30 am and 0:00 am. Line A81 - Cabiúnas, Downtown; T21 - Pq. Taxi - The service is provided by the city hall. It operates between 6:00 am and 7:00 pm and ranks are situated in front of the terminal. Journey time to the city centre is 15 minutes.
