Horta airport (HOR)

Horta Airport, opened on August 24, 1971, serves the Azores archipelago, 1500 km from Lisbon, in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. It operates flights to the remaining destinations within the islands and a few cities in Portugal.

The airport is situated in the parish of Castelo Branco, on the island of Faial, 9.5 km (6 miles) west of the town of Horta.
