The airport is located on the right bank of the Demerara River, in the city of Timehri, 41 km (25 miles) to the south of the capital, Georgetown.
The airport has ATMs, plugs for electric devices, mobile phone services and free Wi-Fi access. The Roraima Airways Executive Lounge is found next to the Public Departures area access ramp and opens from 3:00 am to 11:00 pm; it provides refreshments, drinks, telephones, fax, TV, air conditioning, newspapers and magazines (access with Priority Pass, Lounge Club or DragonPass membership, or by paying at the door - USD40.00).
Food and Drinks- There is a restaurant open around the clock on the outer lawns of the airport. There are also bars, fast-food outlets and coffee shops.
Shopping- Duty-free articles, gifts and crafts, jewellery.
Baggage- Porters in the check-in and Arrivals areas. Secure luggage wrapping in the check-in hall. In the case of missing belongings, they must be reported to the airline representatives, who can be found at the Customs area. National, Enterprise and Alamo (Tel +592 261 3000) have desks in the vicinity of the Temporary Arrivals Terminal Building (TATB), available from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm. To rent a vehicle, you must first have a Temporary Drivers License, which can be obtained at the Arrival's Customs Department. Just ask a Customer Service Representative for assistance.
