Transportation
Afonso Pena International Airport (CWB) is located in the municipality of São José dos Pinhais. To reach Curitiba city center (about 18 km away) via public transport, you need to use the integrated transport system, which is efficient and economical.
Ride-sharing Apps
Uber and 99 services operate regularly at the airport. It is one of the most convenient ways to get directly to your hotel, especially if you have luggage.
Meeting Point:
You must head to the Ground Floor (Piso Térreo), at the outer curb of the arrivals level. Follow the signs that indicate "App de Transporte." The exact location may vary dynamically according to the app, so it is vital to confirm on your mobile screen.
Public Buses (Metropolitan)
Collective transport is managed by the company Auto Viação São José. These lines connect the airport with integration terminals, from where you can transfer to downtown Curitiba.
Route E32: Airport / Boqueirão Terminal
This is the most strategic line for tourists seeking economy. It connects the airport with the Boqueirão Terminal in Curitiba.
City Center Connection: Once at the Boqueirão Terminal, you can transfer (without paying again if using a transport card) to the "Expresso" buses (Red Bi-articulated) heading to the city center (Routes 500 or 503).
Schedule: Daily from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm (approx).
Route 515: Airport / Central Terminal (São José)
Connects the airport with the center of the municipality of São José dos Pinhais. Useful if your accommodation is in that area and not in Curitiba capital.
Payment:
It is recommended to have cash (small change) to pay on board or to purchase a Metrocard if you plan to use public transportation frequently.
