Athens airport is open 24 hours a day and has modern facilities. It operates many flights and connections around the world, so the movement in the terminals is usually constant, even during the night. It is not known for having comfortable places to rest and is noisy. It is therefore advisable to have a sleeping bag, blankets, an eye mask and earplugs handy.
Where to rest: Although there is plenty of seating, it is uncomfortable for a good rest. You can find armless chairs near gate B22, above the Arrivals level and in some fast-food outlets, as well as by gates C34 and C40 in the Satellite Terminal. Some passengers have also recommended the airport museum, on the mezzanine level of the building. On the boarding level, there are a number of VIP lounges for passengers with larger budgets. However, these are closed at night and the maximum stay is usually 4 hours. There is also a hotel opposite the Main Terminal.
Baggage: The luggage storage service is found on the Arrivals level, but closes at night. This means you will have to keep your bags with you until checking in.
Eating and drinking: Different options remain open during the night.
Wi-Fi: Free for 60-minute sessions.
