Spending the night at the airport
Accra Airport is open around the clock, but it is not the most comfortable place to spend the night and can be a bit noisy, so it is advisable to bring headphones or earplugs.
Where to rest: There are few seats, and they are uncomfortable. Additionally, the floor is not carpeted. Bring blankets or a sleeping bag for more comfort. Both terminals have VIP lounges, a couple of which (in Terminal 3) are open 24 hours a day, although the maximum stay is 4 hours. If you choose to stay at a hotel, there are several located nearby.
Baggage: The airport does not offer left-luggage services.
Eating and drinking: Options open overnight are only available in Terminal 3.
Restrooms: Showers only inside the VIP lounges.
Wi-Fi: Free access.

Tips for a long layover
- Check whether you can leave the airport: it depends on your nationality, the visa rules of Ghana and whether your bags are checked through.
- If you sleep airside, you will usually need a boarding pass for a flight that day. Ask your airline before you go through security.
- A lounge with day access can be cheaper than a hotel for a few hours: see VIP lounges at ACC.
- Keep your valuables with you, set an alarm and carry a light layer: terminals are often cold at night.
- Going to a hotel in town? See transportation from ACC (10 km to Accra), and check which services run at night.
