Layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Spend the night at the airport
Mexico City airport is open 24 hours a day, therefore, passengers with a connecting flight or a departure early in the morning have the alternative of spending the night inside one of the terminals.
Where to rest: The most suitable place for resting is the boarding area. Passengers will need a boarding pass to access the area. If you are not able to make the check-in, you will have to remain in the public area, where the seats are scarce and you will probably have to lay on the floor. It is always advisable to have an eyemask and earplugs to isolate yourself from the noise and the lights. Another option (by paying or with a credential providing the service) is to make use of one of the VIP lounges, where you can access more amenities and privacy, bathrooms with showers, etc. Some of the lounges located in Terminal 1 are open all night. For a longer rest, and if your budget allows it, the airport has some hotels. Different options are listed below.
Baggage: There are 24-hour left luggage services on the ground floor of both buildings, and therefore, if you have to wait to make the check-in, you can have a lighter rest without having to watch your personal belongings.
Eating and Drinking: Wide gastronomic offer, with restaurants, fast food outlets, bars and cafés open 24 hours a day.
Restrooms: Showers available inside the VIP lounges of both terminals.
Wi-Fi: The first 15 minutes are free.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, currency exchange bureaus, commercial stores, pharmacies.
