Passenger Guide
Damascus International Airport, opened in 1973, is Syria’s most important airport, serving as the main gateway to the country. Over the years, operations at the airport have been disrupted due to armed conflicts and regional tensions. The ongoing civil war has led many airlines to suspend flights to and from Damascus, but renovation works began in February 2025. At present, the airport operates domestic flights and some routes to international destinations in the Middle East.
