Del Bajío International Airport (IATA code: BJX), officially known as Guanajuato International Airport, is one of the main aviation gateways in central Mexico. It provides domestic and international air connectivity to key destinations across the United States and Canada, serving the cities of León, Silao, Guanajuato City, Irapuato, Salamanca, and San Miguel de Allende.

Terminals
The airport features a single commercial passenger terminal building on two levels: the ground floor houses the main public concourse, check-in desks, baggage claim, and arrivals; the upper floor accommodates security checkpoints, departure lounges, and boarding gates. The passenger terminal operates continuously 24 hours a day. In addition, there is an independent General Aviation Terminal (FBO) for private and corporate flights.

Customer service and information desks are located in the main public concourse on the ground floor, alongside a regional tourist information booth available to arriving travelers.
Location
The airport is located at kilometer 5.5 of the Silao-León highway, in the municipality of Silao, Guanajuato. It is situated 5.5 km (3 miles) northwest of Silao, 15 km (9.5 miles) southeast of León, and approximately 30 km west of Guanajuato City.

The airport is linked to the industrial and cultural corridor of the Bajío region through intercity bus services, door-to-door shuttles, authorized taxis, and ride-hailing apps.
Intercity Buses and Shuttles
UNEBUS: Operated by Grupo Flecha Amarilla, it has a designated stop directly outside the terminal exit. It connects the airport frequently with León (stopping at Puerta del Milenio, Centro Max, and Poliforum), Silao, and Guanajuato City. Regular service runs from 06:00 to 23:30.
BajioGo: Offers shared shuttles and private door-to-door transfers to San Miguel de Allende and other surrounding cities, as well as connections to airports in Querétaro, Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Morelia, departing on scheduled times 24 hours a day.

Authorized Taxis
For safety and fixed zone rates, purchase your taxi voucher at the official authorized ticket booths located in the arrivals concourse prior to boarding. Service operates between 04:30 and 23:00 through authorized companies:

Approximate travel time by taxi is 10 to 15 minutes to Silao, around 30 minutes to León, and about 40 minutes to Guanajuato City.

Ridesharing Apps
Ride-hailing services such as Uber and DiDi can drop off passengers at the departures curb. For pickups upon arrival, availability and designated pickup points are subject to local federal zone regulations.

Parking services at Guanajuato airport (BJX)
Located directly in front of the terminal building is the official airport parking lot, available for both short and long stays.
Parking Facilities
The facility operates continuously 24 hours a day with security personnel and surveillance cameras. Automated payment machines are positioned inside the terminal concourse, accepting cash as well as debit and credit cards (Visa and MasterCard). GAP also provides an online invoicing system through its official portal.

Requesting Special Assistance
Travelers requiring wheelchair assistance, escort through checkpoints, or boarding help should request it directly from their airline at least 48 hours in advance of the scheduled flight.
Infrastructure and Accessibility
The terminal features access ramps, automatic doors, elevators connecting both floors, adapted restrooms, and tactile/Braille signage. In addition, the official parking facility includes reserved spaces for vehicles transporting individuals with disabilities, situated in front of the main terminal entrances.
