 Passenger Guide

Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport, opened on 23 April 1954, is the only operational commercial airport in Lebanon. It is the main entry point to the country, along with the Port of Beirut. It operates flights to destinations in the Middle East, Europe, and the Arab countries of Africa.

Number of Terminals – 1 – Open 24 hours a day. The terminal is U-shaped and consists of two wings, East and West, parallel to each other.

Annual passenger traffic: 5.6 million passengers passed through it in 2024.

The airport is located in the southern suburbs of Beirut, 9 km (5.6 miles) south of the city centre.

Public and private transportation

Taxi

Vehicles available next to the Arrivals area, distinguishable by the airport logo on the side. These offer standard official fares. There are also regular taxis, mainly from Chouf Taxi (Tel +961 7087 2480), but a fare must be agreed upon in advance. The journey to the city takes around 15–20 minutes.
