Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR), opened in 1949, is the primary aviation facility serving Central New York. It provides scheduled domestic flights connecting to major national hubs as well as seasonal leisure routes.

Terminals
The airport features a centralized two-story terminal building that remains open 24 hours a day. Level 1 houses the airline check-in ticket counters and two separate baggage claim halls, while Level 2 features a unified TSA security screening checkpoint (operating from 03:30 to 21:00) that gives access to two boarding wings:
- Concourse A (South Wing): Gates 1 through 15.
- Concourse B (North Wing): Gates 20 through 27.

Information Desks
Assistance centers and information panels are available on Level 1 in both Baggage Claim A and Baggage Claim B. In addition, volunteers from the Fly Guide Ambassador Program operate throughout the terminal to help departing and arriving passengers.

The airport is located 8 km (5 miles) northeast of downtown Syracuse, in Onondaga County, New York, and 100 km (65 miles) south of Watertown.

Ridesharing
Both Uber and Lyft operate on airport grounds. The designated pickup location is located on the outer roadway directly in front of Arrivals A, right outside Baggage Claim A.
Public and Regional Buses
Metropolitan transit agency Centro connects the airport with downtown via route SY84 Mattydale, running Monday through Friday from 5:00 am to 7:30 pm with reduced schedules on weekends. Schedules and route information are accessible through the GoCentroBus app or on the official Centro website.
Additionally, intercity bus operator Trailways picks up passengers outside the terminal, connecting the airport with regional communities and neighboring states.
Taxis and Private Cars
Official taxi ranks and commercial car pickups are positioned along the outer curb directly outside the baggage reclaim areas.
Rail Connections
The airport does not have an on-site rail station. The William F. Walsh Regional Transportation Center (serviced by Amtrak trains and intercity buses) is located about 10 to 15 minutes away by taxi or local bus.
