The airport is located approximately 15 minutes by road from San José del Cabo and about 35 to 45 minutes from Cabo San Lucas, connected via the Transpeninsular Highway and the San José del Cabo–Cabo San Lucas Toll Road.
Shuttles and Private Transfers
This is the most popular and recommended travel option to resorts and hotels in Los Cabos. In the arrivals area, pre-booked transfer operators provide shared van transportation as well as private chauffeured SUV or sedan rides. Shared shuttle service runs around USD 15.00 to USD 25.00 per person, while private vehicles range from USD 70.00 to USD 100.00 per trip depending on the destination zone. Direct scheduled shuttle connections are also offered to the city of La Paz.
Public Bus (Ruta del Desierto)
The public bus route Ruta del Desierto operates air-conditioned coaches equipped with luggage storage. Its designated stop is located in front of Terminal 1 (an easy walk from Terminal 2). Buses travel along the Transpeninsular Highway serving San José del Cabo, the resorts of the Tourist Corridor, and the downtown terminal in Cabo San Lucas, running from 4:30 AM to 11:00 PM. Fares range between MXN$37.00 and MXN$80.00 per ride, payable in cash directly to the driver.

Rideshare Apps (Uber / DiDi)
Under Mexican federal regulations at concessioned airports, Uber and DiDi vehicles are only permitted to drop off passengers in designated departure curbsides. Ride-hailing drivers are strictly prohibited from picking up arriving travelers on airport curbsides; if you wish to order an Uber upon arrival, you must walk outside the federal airport perimeter onto the public highway.
Official Airport Taxis
Official authorized airport taxi booths are located inside the arrivals areas of terminals 1 and 2. Fares are standardized and zoned based on your final destination:
- To San José del Cabo (downtown and hotel zone): approximately 20 minutes travel time, with official fares between USD 60.00 and USD 90.00 per vehicle.
- To the Tourist Corridor and Cabo San Lucas: 30 to 45 minutes travel time, with fares between USD 90.00 and USD 130.00 per vehicle.
- To Todos Santos or La Paz: long-distance flat rates available at the ticket booths.
It is strongly recommended to purchase your voucher only at the authorized booths inside the terminals and to avoid unsolicited drivers outside.
