More Specific Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, the public landside areas of both Terminal A and Terminal B are open 24/7. However, TSA security screening checkpoints close overnight following the final departures and reopen daily at 3:30 am, meaning overnight passengers must stay landside until security reopens.
You can take VIA Metropolitan Transit Route 5 from the west end of Terminal B lower level. The ride to downtown San Antonio takes roughly 30 minutes, with a standard fare of USD 1.30 (or USD 2.75 for an unlimited day pass).
No, luggage lockers and left-luggage storage facilities are unavailable at the airport due to TSA security regulations. You must keep your bags with you at all times until your airline check-in opens.
There are no hotels or sleep cabins inside the terminals. However, multiple hotels within 1 to 2 km (such as Embassy Suites, Hampton Inn, Drury Plaza, and Courtyard by Marriott) offer complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport.
SAT features the United Club airside in Terminal B (between gates B3 and B5) for eligible United and Star Alliance premium flyers, and the landside USO Center in Terminal B arrivals for active-duty U.S. military members and families. There are no Priority Pass or Centurion lounges at this airport.
Terminals A and B are adjacent and connected landside via covered walkways on both the departures and arrivals levels. There is no airside connection behind security; transferring between terminals requires leaving to the public area and passing through TSA screening again.
