Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Spending the night at the airport
San Antonio airport operates with numerous flights inside the United States and some international destinations, so there is often movement even during the night. Although terminals are open around the clock, layover passengers will have to remain in the public area once the security control closes for the night. It is recommended to have blankets or sleeping bags, as the place tends to be chilly, and headphones or earplugs.
Where to rest: In the public area, most seats have armrests, but there are more comfortable benches in the baggage reclaim areas. On the other hand, in the departures sector of Terminal A, you can find seats with no armrests. Another option is to use the VIP lounge (by paying), where you can get access to more amenities, although it closes at night. As to hotels, there are many options in the surroundings, and many of them operate free shuttle services.
Baggage: There are no lockers nor left-luggage service, so you will have to keep your baggage with you until check-in.
Eating and drinking: Shops close at night, but there are vending machines in both terminals.
Wi-Fi: Free and unlimited. There are numerous plugs for electronic devices throughout the enclosure.
Other services available 24 hours a day: ATMs, chapel, lactating rooms.
You can find several hotels in the vicinity and in the city center, many of which have complimentary shuttles for the transfer of their guests. In the baggage reclaim area, there are courtesy phones to request information and make reservations.
