How to get to and from Chengdu Shuangliu Airport (CTU): bus, train, taxi and transfers

Ground transportation options

Public transportation, licensed taxis and ride-hailing apps, private transfers and car rental at Chengdu Shuangliu Airport (CTU), 16 km from Chengdu. See also the airport guide for general information.

Private Transfers

If you require private transport to and from Chengdu Airport, you can book a vehicle directly to your destination. You can hire a car for 3 passengers for USD34.50, a 6-seater minivan for USD42.81, or a minibus for 15 people for USD93.00. Bookings must be made at least 24 hours in advance.

Bus

There are several bus services to and from Chengdu Airport, departing from the station located between the terminals. For more information, contact Tel +86 8572 2020.

S09 - Hanggang Road
S15 - Jiaolonggang
S21 - Sanliba
S22 - Qingyun Temple
S26 - Erjiang Temple
A night service (11:00 pm to 6:30 am) is also available to Nijiaqiao, Sichuan, Huaxiba, Yanshi Kou, Zongfu Road, and Chunxi Road.

Metro

Chengdu Metro Line 10 (Tel +86 28 6163 8000) connects Taipingyuan to Xinping, passing through the airport. It can be accessed outside Gate 1 (first floor) of Terminal 1 and on Level B2, Exit B/C, of the Terminal 2 car park. It operates from 6:00 am to 11:15 pm. Other stops along the route include Jinhua, Huaxing, and Cujin.

At Taipingyuan (11 minutes’ journey), you can transfer to Line 3, which reaches Chunxi Road, in central Chengdu, in about 7 min.

Train

A high-speed intercity train service connects the airport with nearby cities. Access is through Corridor L3, on Level B2 of Terminal 2. As schedules vary, it is recommended to check in advance at Tel +86 12306.

- Jiangyou, Qinglian, Mianyang, Luojiang East, Deyang, Guanghan North, Qingbaijiang East, Xindu East, Chengdu East, Chengdu South, Shuangliu West, Xinjin, Pengshan North, Meishan East, Qingshen, Leshan, Mountain Emei

- Chengdu East, Chengdu South, Shuangliu West, Xinjin, Pengshan North, Meishan East, Qingshen, Leshan, Qianwei, Nixi, Pingshan, Yibin West, Changning, Xingwen, Weixin, Zhenxiong, Bijie, Dafang, Qianxi, Qingzhen West, Baiyun North, Guiyang East

- Guiyang North, Bijie, Yibin West, Shuangliu West, Chengdu South, Jianyang South, Neijiang North, Zigong, Luzhou

Taxi

You can contact Rongcheng Taxi (Tel +86 28 8519 5910) to book a vehicle in advance. Taxi ranks are located next to the Arrivals area of Terminal 2. The journey to Chengdu city centre takes approximately 15 minutes.

Tips for getting to and from CTU

Going to the airport

Leave earlier than you think you need to: Chengdu Shuangliu Airport is 16 km from Chengdu. Allow for rush-hour traffic, strikes or events, and check the local news before you go.
On public transportation, check the schedule (weekends and holidays usually have fewer services), whether you need to change lines and how to pay: transit card, contactless or cash.
If you booked a shared shuttle, keep the company's phone number at hand in case the pickup is late.
Returning a rental car? Follow the signs to the rental car return area. If you drive your own car, check parking at CTU.

Leaving the airport

After baggage claim and customs, follow the ground transportation signs. The arrivals page has a step-by-step guide.
Arriving late at night? Not every bus or train runs 24 hours: check the last departure in advance. Ride-hailing apps usually pick up at a designated zone, not at the curb.
With a private transfer, the driver usually waits in the arrivals hall with a sign with your name.
