Transfer to/from - Brisbane airport (BNE)

Brisbane Airport offers a range of transport options that efficiently connect both terminals with the city centre, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast and surrounding areas. Passengers can choose from fast rail services, door-to-door transfers, public transport or private mobility services.

Trains

The Airtrain is the fastest option for travelling to Brisbane’s Central Business District (CBD) and the Gold Coast. The journey to the city centre takes approximately 20 minutes. Services run every 15 minutes during peak periods and every 30 minutes during off-peak hours. The go card, contactless payments (bank cards/mobile devices), or station ticket purchases are all accepted.

Stations are located on Level 3 of the International Terminal and on the upper level of the Domestic Terminal, accessible via the Skywalk pedestrian bridge. General operating hours are Monday to Friday from 5:00 am to 10:00 pm, and weekends from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. The service also allows quick transfers between terminals (subject to local fares, except where airline agreements apply).

Buses and Shuttles

Con-x-ion Airport Transfers provides shared door-to-door transfers to Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast. Departures are frequent, and tickets can be purchased at the International Terminal visitor information desk and outside the Domestic Terminal, towards the Virgin Australia end.

For public transport, the Translink network operates route 590, which connects the Skygate area with the city’s bus network, including Garden City and Toombul Interchange. It is worth noting that public transport in Queensland operates a flat fare of $0.50 for journeys using a go card or contactless payments, although the Airtrain maintains its own separate fare structure.

Ride-sharing services

Platforms such as Uber, DiDi, Ola and Sheba operate at the airport with designated pick-up areas:

• Domestic Terminal: At both ends of the Skywalk (central and northern zones).
• International Terminal: On Level 2, at the end of the building, behind The Coffee Club. Follow the ramp to the designated area.

An airport access fee of $4.86 applies to all trips starting at the airport. The estimated fare to Brisbane city centre ranges between $35.00 and $50.00, depending on demand and the type of service selected.

Taxis

Taxi ranks are available 24 hours a day outside both terminals (Level 2 at the International Terminal and directly outside the Domestic Terminal). Authorised companies include Black & White Cabs and 13cabs. Travel time to the city centre is approximately 20–30 minutes, with an estimated cost between $67.00 and $82.00. As with ride-sharing services, trips departing from the airport include a mandatory $4.86 access fee.
