Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, all regular services and hours may be subject to change. Thus, if the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are close to boarding.
Staying overnight at the airport
Berlin Brandenburg Airport operates with numerous flights and connections, so there is usually movement even during the night and early morning. The facilities are modern, so it is usually well air-conditioned. It is important to have your passport and plane ticket at hand.
Where to rest: In terminals 1 and 2, there are several seats, although most with armrests. In Terminal 5, these are made of metal, but without armrests, with more options in the public area. On the other hand, in some restaurants, there are padded benches. Entering one of the airport's VIP lounges gives access to more comforts, although they close at night. If the budget allows it, there is a hotel in Terminal 5 and another one outside Terminal 1. Alternatively, many hotels in the surroundings offer transfers for their guests.
Baggage: Left luggage service at the baggage counter located in the T1/T2 train station, level U1, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Eat and drink: The only options open during the night are vending machines.
Wi-Fi: Free and unlimited access.
Showers: Available in the Arrivals area of Terminals 1/2, level E0, during flight hours.
Other services available around the clock: Baby care facilities, chapel, ATMs, prayer room.
