Transfer to/from - Toncontín airport - Tegucigalpa (TGU)

Toncontín is located within the urban area of Tegucigalpa, making the transfer one of the shortest from any Central American capital. Access is via the main road heading south, and taxi stands and passenger pickup areas are located directly in front of the terminal. City traffic is the main factor that can extend travel times, so it is advisable to allow enough extra time when traveling to the airport during rush hour.

Taxis

Taxis are the most commonly used and practical option. Vehicles wait outside the terminal, in the designated area next to the arrivals area. The trip to downtown takes between 15 and 25 minutes under normal traffic conditions.

Urban Buses

This is the most economical option. Urban transportation stops are located on the roads immediately surrounding the airport, outside the airport grounds, and connect with different areas of Tegucigalpa and Comayagüela. Service operates during daytime hours with frequent departures. It is not the most convenient option if you are traveling with bulky luggage, as the vehicles do not have dedicated space for suitcases.

Transfer to Palmerola

Since the capital's commercial international flights operate from Palmerola International Airport in Comayagua (approximately 70 km north), there is a ground transportation connection between the two terminals. The Palmerola Connect service transports passengers between Toncontín and XPL in executive vehicles equipped with air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a restroom, and luggage space.

The service is free for passengers, who must present their airline ticket (and passport for international flights) when boarding.
