Ramón Villeda Morales International Airport, also known as La Mesa International Airport and opened in 1940, serves San Pedro Sula. It operates with international destinations in Central America, Mexico and the United States, as well as connections to tourist attractions such as La Ceiba, the Copan Mayan archaeological areas and the beaches of Roatán and Tela. It is the busiest airport in Honduras.
