Cibao International Airport (STI), opened on March 18, 2002, serves the city of Santiago de los Caballeros and the entire Cibao region, establishing itself as the third busiest airport in the Dominican Republic. It offers direct international connections to key destinations such as New York (JFK and Newark), Boston, Miami, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, San Juan, Puerto Rico, Providenciales, Panama City, and Madrid.

Terminals

The airport operates continuously 24 hours a day and has two terminals located a short distance from each other:

• International Terminal: Main building dedicated to handling all commercial passenger operations to international destinations.
• General Aviation Terminal: Dedicated to private, corporate, and domestic flights.

Short-Term Parking

Located directly in front of the International Terminal building and next to the entrance to the General Aviation Terminal (domestic flights). Due to its proximity to the main entrances, it is the best option for picking up or dropping off passengers or for short visits of a few hours at the airport.

Long-Term Parking

Located between the passenger terminal and the airport complex's cargo area. This section is intended for travelers taking trips outside the city or country who need to leave their vehicle parked for several days or extended periods, with daily rates designed for longer stays.

Cibao International Airport has adapted facilities and assistance protocols designed to facilitate the movement of passengers with reduced mobility, older adults, and people with temporary or permanent disabilities.

Wheelchairs and Assistance at the Airport

Wheelchair service and personalized assistance are provided free of charge and are managed by the assistance staff in coordination with your airline. To ensure the availability of equipment and support staff, you should notify your airline of your special requirements at least 48 hours before the scheduled departure of your flight. Staff will assist you from the check-in counter, through security screening and immigration procedures, to boarding the aircraft and reaching your seat.

Accessibility and Infrastructure

The terminal building includes facilities designed to ensure accessible transit:

• Wheelchair access ramps at the entrances and exits of the main terminal.
• Accessible restrooms for passengers with reduced mobility in public areas and pre-boarding lounges.
• Reserved and clearly marked parking spaces for vehicles transporting people with disabilities, located in the areas closest to the access doors.
• Priority assistance in check-in lines, security screening checkpoints, and customs and immigration inspection areas.

Service Animals

Guide dogs and service animals are permitted in the airport and in passenger cabins in accordance with international aviation regulations. It is recommended to coordinate in advance with your airline regarding the animal's health certificates and official documentation before the flight date.
