The airport is situated roughly 7 km (4.5 miles) south of downtown Santa Ana. For travelers heading to Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, the drive is approximately 22 km (14 miles) north via Interstate 5 or State Route 55, making SNA the closest and most convenient airport for Disney visitors.
To mitigate aircraft noise over surrounding residential areas in Newport Beach and Costa Mesa, the airport enforces strict legal curfews. Commercial departures are permitted only from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm Monday through Saturday, and beginning at 8:00 am on Sundays. Arrivals typically conclude by 11:00 pm.

Rideshare pickups (Uber, Lyft, Wingz) take place on the top floor (roof level) of Parking Structures A2, B2, and C. Traditional taxicabs pick up passengers at the Ground Transportation Center located on the lower Arrivals level between Parking Structures A2 and B2.
The terminal hosts an American Airlines Admirals Club (Terminal A mezzanine by Gate 8), a United Club (Terminal B mezzanine across from Gate 9), and a Bob Hope USO Center for active military and families (Terminal B lower Arrivals level by Carousel 4). There are currently no Priority Pass lounges at SNA.
The airside gate areas close around midnight after the last flight, and security requires all passengers to wait in the public landside area until checkpoints open at 4:30 am. Because there are no designated sleep areas or 24-hour food outlets, staying at a nearby hotel with airport shuttle service is highly recommended.
