Louisville International Airport, opened on November 15, 1947, serves the metropolitan area of the city of the same name and is one of the busiest in the state of Kentucky. It basically operates with domestic flights.

The airport has ATMs, bank (Mondays through Fridays from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, weekends from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm), mailbox, plugs for electric devices, public telephones and complimentary Wi-Fi access. On the upper level, behind the ticket counters, there is an exclusive lounge for the military and their families (Fort Knox Reception Area), open from 8:00 am to 11:00 pm, with free Wi-Fi, beverages and snacks.
Food and Drinks- Restaurants, fast food outlets, coffee shops and bars scattered throughout the enclosure. Starbucks, in the public area of the upper level, is open around the clock.
Shopping- Stores selling souvenirs, flowers, apparel, books, newsagents, sports goods, accessories.
Baggage- Trolleys for rent in the parking lots and inside the terminal. The lost and found service is operated by the airport police, in the ticketing concourse (Tel +1 502 380 8264).

Ride-sharing - Vehicles from Lyft and Uber can be boarded on the east side of the terminal, lower level.
Bus - Route 2 from Transit Authority of River City (TARC) (Tel +1 502 585 1234) runs to the city centre in approximately 30 minutes, between 5:52 am and 9:52 pm (from 6:52 am on weekends and holidays). The fare is USD1.75 and stops include Kentucky Fair and Expo Center, Cardinal Stadium, the University of Louisville and Kentucky Kingdom. Buses leave from the east end of the terminal.
