Covid-19: Regulations for travel to Portugal

International travel to Portugal is allowed. You need to meet the requirements to ensure entry is allowed.

EU COVID digital certificate

Travelers can provide their EU digital certificate on paper or in digital form as proof of negative test result or previous recovery. Health documents provided in this way will not require additional verification on arrival. Full details on the EU digital certificate, including how EU residents can access their certificate, can be found HERE

It is mandatory to submit medical certificate / proof

Proof of a negative COVID-19 test, taken within the previous 72 hours, must be provided upon departure. Nucleic acid amplification tests (NAAT), such as RT-PCR, are accepted. Alternatively, proof of a negative rapid antigen test, obtained within 48 hours of departure, may be presented. Instead, travelers can provide documentation of having recovered from COVID-19. This must be provided through an EU Digital Certificate or issued by a third country, under reciprocal conditions.

Other medical measures

All passengers are subject to health checks on arrival, such as temperature checks and visual evaluation. More health tests may be required for those showing symptoms of COVID-19.
