Airlines at LIS

Airlines operating at Lisbon airport (LIS), with their terminals and main destinations. See also the airport guide for general information.

Terminal 1

Terminal 1 is the main terminal of the airport and handles most flights, both arrivals and departures, of traditional airlines. The check-in area is located on the departures level. The main companies operating here are:

Terminal 2 (Low-Cost Departures Only)

Terminal 2 is used exclusively for departures of most low-cost airlines. It's important to know that you cannot go directly to T2; all passengers must first check in (if they haven't done so online) and check their luggage at the designated counters in Terminal 1. Then, they must take the free bus to go to T2, where they will go through security control and board.

Routes and schedules change with the season and each airline's decisions. Check the airport or airline website before planning your trip.

What to sort out with your airline

Before or after your trip, these issues are handled directly with the airline, ideally well in advance:

  1. Check-in and documents: many countries require your passport to be valid for 3 to 6 months beyond your stay. Confirm it with the airline and the embassy of your destination before checking in online.
  2. Baggage: size and weight limits, prohibited items and fees for checked or excess baggage. Each fare has its own rules: read the fine print.
  3. Minors traveling alone or with one parent: some countries ask for a signed, sometimes notarized, consent. Ask about the airline's Unaccompanied Minor service, its age limits and deadlines.
  4. Reduced mobility and pregnancy: request assistance at least 48 hours in advance. Many airlines ask for a medical certificate from around week 28 of pregnancy.
  5. Pets and assistance dogs: spaces for pets in the cabin are limited, so book early. Assistance dogs usually travel free, with notice at least 48 hours ahead and the required documents.
  6. Changes and cancellations: check whether your fare allows a refund or only a voucher. If the airline changes your flight, ask about assistance (hotel, meals) and missed connections.
  7. Delays, cancellations and denied boarding: on flights covered by EU Regulation 261/2004, arriving 3 hours or more late or a last-minute cancellation may entitle you to €250 to €600 in compensation, unless there were extraordinary circumstances. Keep your boarding pass, receipts and messages.
