Getting to and from LIR

The airport is located 13 km from downtown Liberia (approximately a 20-minute drive by car or taxi).

Buses

Pulmitan de Liberia operates bus services connecting the terminal with downtown Liberia every 30 minutes starting at 05:00. The standard fare is approximately USD 1.00 (between 500 and 600 CRC). Additionally, Transportes La Pampa serves the route between Liberia and Nicoya with stops near the airport grounds. To reach beach destinations like Playas del Coco using public buses, passengers must walk or take local transport to the main Route 21 intersection, as intercity buses do not enter the terminal parking area.
