  Which VIP lounges are at Osaka airport (KIX) and how to access them

Kansai Airport features a wide variety of lounges located mainly within Terminal 1 and the Aeroplaza building. These facilities range from basic café services to full buffets, showers and workspaces, depending on the category of the lounge.

Airline Lounges

Located in the departures area on the third floor of Terminal 1, these lounges are reserved for premium-class passengers and elite frequent flyer programme members.

• Lounge KANSAI: Situated in the domestic area, near Gates 25-26, and open from 5:30 am until the last flight. It offers snacks, hot meals, alcoholic beverages, Wi-Fi, showers and massage services. Pay-per-use access is available at the entrance.
• KIX Lounge Kansai: Located in the international area, close to Gate 21, and open from 6:00 am to 12:55 am. It provides a refined atmosphere with a buffet, bar, massage services, showers, family and nursing rooms, smoking areas, lockers and private rooms. Accessible to business-class passengers travelling with selected airlines or through special tourism agreements.
• KIX Lounge Premium: Also located near Gate 21 and operating during the same hours, it offers exclusive services for first-class passengers of participating airlines such as Japan Airlines.
• KAL Lounge: Situated in the North Wing, near Gate 5. It provides light refreshments and beverages. Access is available to Korean Air passengers and SkyTeam members. It also frequently accepts memberships such as Priority Pass (subject to capacity restrictions).

Credit Card Member Lounges

These lounges are generally simpler, mainly offering soft drinks, coffee and a quiet environment in which to wait for a flight.

• KIX Airport Café Lounge NODOKA: Located on the second floor of the Aeroplaza building (outside the security area). This is a 24-hour lounge operating under a "café-lounge" concept. It features cubicle-style rest areas, showers and snacks. Access is available with Priority Pass, LoungeKey, Diners Club and premium cards issued in Japan.
• Card Member Lounge "North Lounge": Located in the North Wing (airside). Open from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm. It offers soft drinks, basic snacks and a smoking area. Access is restricted to American Express cardholders and holders of premium Japanese cards.
• South Lounge: Located on the third floor, in the centre of the international boarding area. Access is via the lift situated between Gates 22 and 23. Open from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm. Facilities include drinks, hot and cold meals, showers, Wi-Fi and a smoking area. Access is available with DragonPass.

Pay-per-use Lounges

These lounges are open to any passenger upon payment of an entrance fee at the reception desk, regardless of airline or travel class.

• Lounge Pacific: Located in the North Wing. It is a spacious lounge offering business facilities, newspapers and refreshments.
• Asuka Lounge: Located in the North Wing, near Gate 11. Open from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm. It provides a comfortable environment with snacks and a variety of beverages.

 Facilities and other services

The airport offers comprehensive facilities for travellers, including financial services with a bank branch (open Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm), cash machines, and multiple currency exchange offices distributed throughout both terminals, some of which operate 24 hours a day. Postal services, business centres in Terminal 1, work areas with power outlets for mobile devices, public telephones, and free access to the high-speed Wi-Fi network ("#AirportFreeWiFi-Kansai") are also available throughout the airport.

Dining

The dining options are highly varied and include traditional Japanese cuisine (sushi, ramen, udon), as well as international restaurants, cafés and bars. For passengers travelling during the night, establishments such as McDonald's (on the second floor of Terminal 1) and venues in Aeroplaza such as Nakau and Zetteria generally provide 24-hour service. There are also numerous convenience stores (Lawson, FamilyMart) open around the clock, offering ready-to-eat meals.

Shopping

The international departures areas in both terminals feature extensive duty-free shopping zones with luxury goods, cosmetics and perfumes. The airport also stands out for its specialised shops selling electronics, cameras, local handicrafts, books, toys and Japanese stationery. Terminal 1 houses a diverse shopping arcade featuring internationally renowned fashion brands.

Baggage

Trolleys: Available free of charge in the departures and arrivals areas, car parks and railway station.

Baggage storage and delivery: Storage counters and door-to-door delivery services (Takkyubin) operated by Kansai Airport Baggage Service and JAL ABC are located on Levels 1 and 4 of Terminal 1. These services allow luggage to be sent directly to hotels or private addresses anywhere in Japan. Standard opening hours are from 6:30 am to 10:30 pm.

Lockers: Coin-operated lockers and lockers accessible with transport cards (IC cards) are available on the second floor of Aeroplaza, on Levels 1 and 2 of Terminal 1, and in the public area of Terminal 2.

Baggage wrapping: Available on Level 4 of Terminal 1 for additional protection of personal belongings.

Lost property: In the event of lost belongings within the terminals, passengers should visit the information centre or complete the official contact form.

Other Services

Health: The airport has a medical clinic and a dental surgery located on the second floor of Terminal 1 to deal with emergencies or passenger consultations.

Wellness and personal care: Spa services, massage chairs and shower rooms are available (some located within the KIX Airport Lounge Nodoka in Aeroplaza and in the boarding areas). There is also a pharmacy in the public area.

Family and faith: Children's play areas, fully equipped nursing rooms for baby care and multi-faith prayer rooms are available in strategic locations throughout both terminals.

Smoking areas: Clearly signposted and located both before and after security screening.
