Antônio Carlos Jobim International Airport, also known as Galeão International Airport and opened on January 20, 1977, is the most important in Rio de Janeiro and the busiest in the country after Guarulhos Airport. It operates with domestic and international flights to destinations in the American Continent, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Number of Terminals - 2 - Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Open 24 hours a day and linked through travelators.

Annual passenger traffic: 5.7 million passengers went through it in 2022.

Tel: +55 21 3004 6050 / 967 615 041. There are information counters on the ground floor and the first floor of Terminal 1 and on the second floor of Terminal 2. They operate around the clock.

There are also interactive screens throughout the enclosure.


The airport is located 20 km (13 miles) to the north of Rio de Janeiro.

The enclosure has covered and outdoor spaces for short- and long-term parking. Facilities operate 24 hours a day and offer a mechanical aid service, security staff and CCTV. From the parking lot, you can access terminals 1 and 2. More information: Tel +55 21 3398 2142.

Facilities for passengers with special needs

Facilities include lifts, ramps, wide automatic doors, adapted restrooms and reserved parking spaces. The airport staff can provide wheelchair transport by request.
