Antí´nio Carlos Jobim International Airport, better known as Galeão International Airport and opened on January 20, 1977, is the most important in Rio de Janeiro and the busiest in the country after Guarulhos Airport. It operates domestic and international flights to destinations in the American continent, Europe and the Middle East.

Number of Terminals - 2 - Terminal 1 (charter and executive flights) and Terminal 2 (commercial airlines). Open 24 hours a day and connected by travelators.

There are information counters on the ground floor and first floor of Terminal 1 and on the second floor of Terminal 2, open 24 hours a day. In addition, there are interactive information screens scattered throughout the premises.

The airport is located on Governador Island, 20 km (13 miles) north of the city of Rio de Janeiro.

The airport offers indoor and outdoor spaces that can be used on a short or long-term basis. Facilities operate 24 hours a day and have mechanical aid service, security personnel and monitoring cameras. Terminals 1 and 2 can be accessed from the parking lot.
