Sleeping inside or in nearby hotels at CLO Airport

Overnight layover guide: sleeping options in the public area and the boarding area

Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport is open 24 hours a day, allowing passengers with early morning departures or overnight layovers to remain inside the terminal. However, it is important to note that sleeping facilities are limited.

Where to Rest

Most of the seating in the public areas consists of metal chairs with armrests, making it difficult to lie down comfortably. Travelers often choose the second floor near the check-in counters, where the atmosphere is generally quieter during the early morning hours. It is recommended to bring a blanket or warm clothing, as the air conditioning can make the terminal quite cold overnight.

For a more comfortable night's rest, the Hotel Sin Escala, located on the third floor of the main terminal building, offers rooms within the airport. VIP lounges also provide comfortable seating, but keep in mind that they close around midnight and reopen early in the morning, so they are not an option for spending the entire night.

Food and Services

Most restaurants and retail stores close between 10:00 pm and 11:00 pm, reopening around 5:00 am. During the overnight hours, food options are generally limited to vending machines offering snacks and beverages throughout the terminal. It is advisable to purchase food and drinks before the main businesses close.

Baggage and Security

The airport does not currently provide luggage storage due to security regulations. As a result, passengers must keep their belongings with them at all times. The terminal is monitored around the clock and staffed by airport police, providing a generally safe environment for travelers spending the night.

Restrooms and Showers

Public restrooms are available 24 hours a day and are generally kept clean. Shower facilities are available exclusively inside the Lounge Las Americas VIP Lounge in the international concourse, accessible only during its operating hours and for passengers traveling on international flights.

Connectivity

Free Wi-Fi is available without time limits and works well throughout most of the terminal, making it easy to stay entertained or get work done during an overnight stay.

 Hotels

The airport offers accommodation options both inside the terminal and in the surrounding area, making it convenient for passengers with long layovers or early morning departures.

Accommodation Inside the Terminal

For maximum convenience, the Hotel Sin Escala is located directly on the third floor of the terminal, in the domestic arrivals area. It is the ideal choice for travelers who want to avoid leaving the airport and rest just steps from the boarding gates.

Nearby Hotels

If you prefer accommodations outside the airport, several hotels are located just a short distance away:

• Hotel Real Elim International: Its prime location allows guests to reach the terminal in just a couple of minutes, making it the closest hotel outside the airport. Amenities include an outdoor swimming pool, fitness center, and complimentary buffet breakfast.
• Hotel Villa Bosco: Offers a quieter, countryside setting away from the constant activity of the airport while maintaining quick access to the terminal.
• Hotel Cabañas De Rozo: Located in the Rozo area, it is an excellent choice for travelers who wish to enjoy the region's renowned local cuisine during their stay.
