Requirements for Hiring a Vehicle
If you choose a self-drive car hire option (without a driver), please note that companies require the following documents and conditions at their counters:
- Minimum age: The driver must be over 21 years old (some special or premium vehicle categories may require a minimum age of 23 or 25).
- National driving licence: A valid driving licence issued in your country of residence, held for at least one year.
- International Driving Permit (IDP): Indonesian law requires that your national driving licence be accompanied by a valid International Driving Permit.
- Passport: Original identity document and a valid passport to verify entry details into the country.
- Credit card: An international credit card in the name of the main driver with sufficient funds to cover the security deposit or rental guarantee.
